Thanks Mainstream Corporate Media!

According to a WSJ Harris poll (via Light Up the Darkness), the corporate media is doing a swell job:

The number who mistakingly believe Saddam had strong links to al Qaeda actually increased from 62% to 64% between October and now. Less believe that Iraq had WMD at the time of the invasion, dropping from 38% to 36%. Perhaps the most disturbing case of misinformation held by the public is that the percentage of people who believed that several of the 9/11 hijackers were Iraquis increased from 37% to 44% since October.

In other news, sticker production is up 900%.

It isn’t addressed in the discussed poll, so I mentioned this only in a comment at LUTD later in the day: other surveys have shown that people who watch Fox News are more likely to have these misconceptions. As Al Franken has put it, the more you watch Fox, the number you get.

Note that the poll, and story on LUTD, does also have some good news. More people want to get out of Iraq within the next year, and less people think the war on terrorism was strenghthened by the war.

Typo in my comment above . It should say:

As Al Franken has put it, the more you watch Fox, the dumber you get.
